Books featuring excerpts of President Xi Jinping's remarks on the Chinese Dream, a concept he proposed in late 2012 regarding the "great rejuvenation of Chinese nation", have been published in several ethnic groups' languages and various foreign languages.
Sun Yeli, deputy director of the Literature Research Centre of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, which published the excerpts, discussed the books at a news conference held by the State Council Information Office on Friday.
Sun said the center edited and published the excerpts in Chinese in a book titled Excerpts of Xi Jinping's Remarks on the Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of Chinese Nation in December.
Quoting 146 paragraphs of Xi's talks, speeches and letters, the first book answered frequently asked questions such as what the Chinese Dream is and how to realize it.
"The book has been widely distributed domestically, gaining positive social influence," Sun said. "Now it is being published in ethnic languages and various foreign languages to reach a wider audience."
Xi formally described the Chinese Dream for the first time while visiting The Road to Rejuvenation exhibition at the National Museum on Nov 29, 2012.
"I firmly believe, by the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of China, the goal of building a moderately prosperous society will be reached. By the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China, the goal of building a prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced and harmonious modern socialist country will be reached," Xi said.
"The dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will be realized."
