This year's Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) is set to kick off this Friday at the China National Convention Center in the capital city. And the expo will open to the public at the weekend.
Committed to presenting the highest quality of exhibitors, buyers and visitors across the region, BITE 2014 will keep on packing in an enormous showcase of tourism destinations, attractions and travel-related goods and services for all.

It has attracted about 1,000 tourism organizations and travel agencies from 81 countries and regions to register as exhibitors. About one third of them are from abroad.
The trade promotions for investors and exhibitors were the most popular activities among interna-tional and domestic exhibitors.

This year’s event will continue to invite more investors from home to negotiate for more deals and cooperation projects. The number of investors across the country has increased to nearly 200 from about 80 in 2013.

Organized since 2003, Beijing’s International Tourism Expo is one of the fastest growing in the industry, attaining a quality ranking in Asia, and becoming an important and influential platform for tourism networking and business transactions.
Last year’s expo attracted some 40,000 exhibitors and buyers, and about 10,000 visitors. A great number of deals amounting to 4.8 billion yuan ($774.2 million) were made, up 23 percent year on year. The expo resulted in 46 million yuan in sales revenue of tourism products, seeing a year-on-year increase of 21 percent.
