A man in Yanqing county who killed two friends after drinking escaped the death penalty because one victim's father forgave him, Beijing Times reported on Friday. The father asked for leniency from the judge, saying that he doesn't want the killer's parents to lose their son as well. The judge gave the killer a death sentence with a two-year reprieve.
