"It is quite a good opportunity to learn more about cruise tourism in the Caribbean region, since the market demand for cruise tourism in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is surging," said a representative from Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development.
The number of Chinese people traveling overseas is expected to grow by 200 million at least in 2020, which is a huge opportunity for overseas markets. Beijing and the Caribbean region are both emerging tourism destinations.
As one of the world's most compelling tourism destinations, the Caribbean region boasts a large cruise tourism with many years' development, and this also brings more possibilities for the two parties’ cooperation and practical experience to promote Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region's cruise tourism.
The Beijing-headquartered World Tourism Cities Federation is a non-profit, non-governmental international organization organized voluntarily by tourist cities in all countries and regions, non-governmental organizations, associations and enterprises related to tourism. The federation has a membership of 124 of the world’s major tourist cities and organizations, made up of 80 cities and 44 organizations.
