Leading mainland media group Huayi Brothers will co-produce two movies starring Johnny Depp and Keanu Reeves, the company's president Wang Zhonglei said on May 8 in Beijing.
The projects are among the 17 movies on Huayi's 2015 agenda. Other highlights include Wuershan's adaptation of Ghost Blowing Out the Light, a best-seller about grave robbery.
The film is a co-production between Huayi and two other domestic film companies Wanda and Enlight. Expected box-office revenue is 2 billion yuan ($317 million). Hong Kong director Tsui Hark will release the third installment of his Detective Dee series, while Jackie Chan's action epic Dragon Blade will premiere on Feb 19, 2015, during the Chinese Spring Festival.
