A man with a passion for biology runs a cafe steeped in ecological education.
Natural History is a cafe hidden in a downtown Beijing hutong.
It goes beyond drinks to also offer lectures and showcase experiments related to natural history.
Yang Ye started the cafe after working as an assistant director on BBC's Wild Life and as a teacher at the New Oriental school.
The 31-year-old says his infatuation with natural history began at age 4 and led him to major in bioscience in university.
He later joined a wildlife rescue center in Beijing as a volunteer.
"Natural history is about everything around us," Yang says.
In addition to events staged at his cafe, Yang also organizes owl-watching excursions in forests and seafood gathering on beaches.
"Taking a friendly and scientific approach to nature enables you to find more in life," he says.
