The final of the fourth New Oriental Cup Oral English Contest, sponsored by the New Oriental Education and Technology Group, was held in Beijing on April 23.

The whole competition takes seven months. Tens of thousands of students from around the country compete in qualifying rounds online and eventually, 24 outstanding contestants are selected to compete in the final in Beijing.
Unlike other general speaking English competitions, the New Oriental Cup final combines group cooperation and business case studies, which are set to test competitors’ cooperative, analytical and logistics thinking skills.
After fierce competition, professional judges pick the team and individual winners, with one of the winners getting a 100,000 yuan ($16,249) scholarship from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.
