Baidu, China’s largest search engine giant, officially launched its third generation TV box – which is called "Baidu Shadow Stick 3" – on April 29, 2014, Guangming Daily reported on Monday.
The new TV box is powered by Google Android and an Amlogic S802 quad-core processor. It features 8GB of storage, 8-core GPU, 2G DDR RAM and 8GB of internal flash memory which can provide mass storage space for games, applications and videos.
Baidu Shadow Stick 3 also supports 4K ultra-clear 3840 × 2160 resolution and the latest H.265 codec format, which can reduce more than half of the total bandwidth consumption.
So far, Baidu has reached a cooperation deal with several Internet TV brands which offer legitimate and ultra-clear videos, including Mango TV, CNTV and Wasu.
