Zhongguancun Product Testing and Quality Certification Service Center signed a memorandum of understanding with NCC – a Brazilian certification body – at a meeting on China-South America testing and certification services in Beijing on April 28, 2014, Science and Technology Daily reported on Monday.
The two parties will carry out cooperation in international communication and promote mutual recognition of testing and certification.
"Product inspection and testing is one of the eight key areas of high technology service industries. Since most countries have set up a well-established system for inspection services, China is also helping its testing and inspection organizations to grow bigger and stronger. We will make innovations on management and implement an internationalization strategy," said Wu Jinsheng, director of the technology department at the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
"I hope Zhongguancun's testing institutes can strengthen exchanges and cooperation with their international counterparts," said Liu Hang, a member of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee.
In addition, the city of Beijing will improve the service of testing and inspection organizations through cooperation with South American countries such as Brazil, in order to better serve its enterprises and achieve a win-win situation, according to Chen Ligong, a representative from the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
The meeting was supported by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and the Zhongguancun Product Testing and Quality Certification Service Center.
