The Frankfurt Book Fair's all-media platform event – StoryDrive – will provide more opportunities for Asian countries at this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) that starts on May 28 in Beijing, according to a press conference before this year's World Book Day on April 23.

As a professional conference on books and publications, StoryDrive has become an international brand since its appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2010.

Its China debut at the first CIFTIS in 2012 attracted a large number of fans and spectators, and captured much attention from exhibitors who came from both China and other Asian countries.

This year, the StoryDrive conference will highlight cross-media case studies of Asia, such as China's Confucian Analects (lunyu), Japanese cartoon comics and publications in South Korea.

"The StoryDrive not only focuses on cross-media itself, but also attaches greater importance to the core of them – stories," said Holger Volland, vice president of the Frankfurt Book Fair and head of the StoryDrive Asia's organizing committee.

"Stories can be told through various media, such as books, video games and electronic publications," he added.

The event will also devote itself to cross-cultural storytelling with "stories that shape us" - for its 2014 theme. It is an excellent platform to collect and sell stories, as well as a place for gathering of authorities from different backgrounds, such as literature, films, books, video games and design.

The event will also invite Chinese cultural celebrities, such as Yu Dan and Guo Jingming, to share their understanding of cross-cultural storytelling. International pioneers and elites from publications, films and video game productions will give speeches at the forum.
