Zhongguancun international logistics center for biological reagents in Beijing's Yizhuang Development Area has opened a green channel for imports and exports of biological reagents.
The center, established by the administrative committee of Zhongguancun Science Park and the Beijing Economic-technological Development Area, was accepted by the Beijing Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and started trial operations on Nov 19, 2013.
So far, more than 100 biological medicine enterprises have signed service contracts with the center, cutting the average time of inspection and clearance from 3.5 days to 1.5 days.
Manufacturers, agents, foreign trade companies, custom brokers enterprises, express companies and cold-chain transportation enterprises have settled in the center, providing one-stop services for biological reagents.
The center will further strive for even more convenient customs clearance and tax policy support; optimize pre-examination and approval procedures; and shorten the time for importing biological products.
In addition, it will continue to promote the development of the biological medicine industry of Zhongguancun Science Park.
The industry showed a rapid growth last year, ranking the first of six advantageous industries and four potential industries in the park, with a total revenue of 121.39 billion yuan ($19.45 billion) from January to October, a 24.7-percent year-on-year increase.
Meanwhile its profits totaled 13.69 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 29.2 percent; and the industrial profit rate grew to 11.3 percent.
