A press conference for a charity jogging competition was held at the National Stadium, also known as the "Bird's Nest", in Beijing on April 2, 2014.

The 5-kilometer run, which is considered to be a warm-up for the 2014 IAAF World Athletics Challenge’s Beijing stop, will take place in Beijing's Olympic Park and the Bird's Nest stadium on May 18.

Meanwhile, the 2015 IAAF World Athletics Championships, another world-class tournament after the 2008 Olympic Games, will be held at the stadium.

“The Bird's Nest, as the main Olympic venue and China's new landmark, has held a lot of major tournaments, sports events and cultural performances during the post-Olympic period, bringing visual feasts and entertainments to the capital's residents," said a representative from the management company of the National Stadium.

Participants will be divided into several groups, including an all-star team consisting of entertainment and sports stars. Popular cartoon images—NESTAR and Luo Baby (Luobaobei), a lovely girl-like promotion ambassador for Beijing’s Chaoyang district, will join in the game.

The event was sponsored by the Beijing Sports Competitions Administration Center and the National Stadium Co, and organized by the China Women's Development Foundation, Beijing Olympic Park Administration Committee and Beijing Sports Federation.
