Beijing reviews its role on the rule of law

The Beijing government recently said that government needs greater market supervision and democratic decision-making, but that it has made progress in government functions and law enforcement, although it still has room to improve in administration.

This announcement, made at the Municipal Party School in a report on government in 2013, according to Xinhua.com, and pointed out that, as a city of more than 20 million people, Beijing faces major challenges in traffic congestion, air pollution, and overpopulation but needs to protect the rights of migrants to live and fine employment. In this, it said, the rule of law is the most fundamental thing for government in fulfilling its duties and helping society develop.
