A painting and calligraphy exhibition, called "China's Dream, a beautiful Linfen", kicked off at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing on Feb 23, displaying 123 traditional Chinese paintings created by more than 100 famous artists in China, with the themes of the industrialization, agricultural modernization, urbanization, and the city's ecologicalization of Linfen, Shanxi province.
The exhibition was sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Shanxi's provincial Party committee publicity department, and organized by Shanxi's provincial literary and art federation, Linfen municipal Party committee, and Linfen municipal government.
The painting and calligraphy exhibition was initiated back in July 2013, with the aim of showing the transformational achievements of Linfen, and the great changes in Fenhe River's ecological construction, environmental management and city construction, recording the colorful natural landscape of the city with its profound history and culture. More than 100 traditional Chinese painters were invited to Linfen to create their works, and eventually 123 boutique paintings were produced and collected for publication and distribution.
