An updated version of The Ugly Duckling performed by Beijing DreamFactory Cultural and Creative Co will be staged in Taicang Grand Theatre at 2pm on March 16.

The Ugly Duckling is a classic fairy tale about an ugly duckling who is bitten, laughed at and bullied because of his ugly appearance. After surviving a painfully tough winter, the duckling comes to a beautiful spring. The ugly duckling grows and finally becomes the most beautiful swan, earning the admiration of others.

With very simple language, the fairy tale is readable and touching. Readers and audiences feel that the story is true and often find inspiration from it.

Beijing DreamFactory Cultural and Creative Co was founded in 2010 to inspire, develop and encourage children. As one of several children's theater companies that perform plays in the style of cartoons and animation, the company has created cartoon images and classic stage plays based on such famous tales as The Story of Snow White, The Adventures of Pinocchio and Kung Fu Panda. The company is immensely popular. It also plans to invest in and perform other shows based on The Lion King and Little Red Riding Hood.
