A woman who was trapped in an elevator for eight hours received 5,000 yuan ($820) as compensation from the elevator company, Legal Evening News reported on Friday.
Surnamed Cao, the Beijing resident was blocked in the elevator at about midnight on Wednesday when she tried to visit her neighbor downstairs and got out at about 8 am with the help of her family member.
