Wearing an old uniform of the national gymnastics team and performing handstands on the Beijing subway, former gymnast Zhang Shangwu is panhandling again after giving up his job that had a monthly salary of more than 10,000 yuan ($1,650). Zhang was a gold-medal winner in the 2001 Beijing Universiade before he retired because of injuries. After he was discovered panhandling on the subway in 2011, he was invited to run a business.
