100 kg of fireworks seized in parking lot

Police confiscated more than 100 kg of fireworks and firecrackers in a small private parking lot in Beijing's Chaoyang district on Sunday, Beijing Morning Post reported on Tuesday.

The owner of the parking lot, identified as Li, said he bought the fireworks for 20,000 yuan ($3,300) in Hebei province. Li is in detention for seven days for storing dangerous items.
