Beijing and its surrounding areas, including Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi province and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will hold another working conference on air pollution control after Spring Festival. A group of new policies will be released at that time. The provinces have established a coordination mechanism and are trying to set up an information sharing platform.
"The provinces will promote law enforcement cooperation. For example, Beijing’s law enforcement team will be sent to Tianjin or Hebei province for inspections. An emergency mechanism to deal with heavy pollution weather will also be established in the future," said Zhang Gong, member of Beijing Municipal People’s Congress and deputy mayor of Beijing.
