Six Chinese musicians who combine classical and other music genres formed the group Pirates & Sorcerers last year, and they are now ready to play their debut concert in Beijing.
Violist Wang Jianmin, cellist Song Zhao, double bass player Xu Jingying, pianist Li Yue, violinist Tang Yun and percussionist Li Nanzi will present crossover works that were adapted by composer Zhang Xiaozhen, including The Phantom of the Opera, Cinema Paradiso and Goldberg Variations. Three members of the group, who are also soprano and pop singers, will sing in the show.
