Beijing’s Shunyi district put 200 electric taxis into operation, on Wed, Jan 8, 2014, after a test run and has already built an operations center for them, with 210 parking spaces and 110 fast-charge points. Another 20 fast-charge points are being built in suburban areas. These electric taxis use less energy and have lower costs than normal fuel taxis and are expected to save the city 520 tons of fuel and cut traffic emissions by more than 800 tons a year.
