Glimpse of top contemporaries

The ongoing exhibition at the Art Museum of Central Academy of Fine Arts offers a glimpse of contemporary art in China. More than 300 artworks cover everything from installation to multimedia. As a warm-up for the 95th anniversary of CAFA, China's cradle of artists, the CAFA teachers' show contains works from290 teachers. The roll call of names is crowded with top-notch artists, such as Xu Bing, Sui Jianguo, Liu Xiaodong and Su Xinping. Most of the works were created in the past two years. "The show is a miniature of China's contemporary art," says Xu, whose video Characters of Chinese Characters explores Chinese people by following the changes of Chinese characters. Sui says the intense conflict between individuals and society is where Chinese contemporary art finds its inspiration.

9:30 am-5:30 pm, until Dec 15. Art Museum of Central Academy of Fine Arts, 8 Huajiadi South Street, Chaoyang district, Beijing.
