Treat for Stravinsky fans

Stravinsky, Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra. Everyone of those elements is worth the price of admission and now the three have come together in what is sure to be a treat for fans of classical music.

 

Treat for Stravinsky fans

The renowned Russian conductor Gergiev will take the baton of the prestigious orchestra to present a mini Stravinsky festival. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the premiere of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, Gergiev has led the orchestra to play Stravinsky in St Petersburg, Paris, Salzburg and now finally in Beijing. The cast includes a 104-member orchestra,29-member choir, five pianists and four vocalists. You can enjoy the composer's trademark works such as Firebird, Concerto for Two Pianos, The King of the Stars for Male Chorus and Orchestra and of course, Rite of Spring.
