The CBD-Dingfuzhuang International Media Corridor, which began with 30 major culture and creative bases in 2009, has become a hub of six national parks and 47 bases after four-years of development. The corridor’s annual revenue is estimated to reach more than160 billion yuan ($ 26.27 billion), with 16,000 culture and creative enterprises, by the end of 2013. It is 2.3 times more than 2009’s value of 69.43 billion yuan with nearly 10,000 enterprises.
The 78 square kilometers corridor has produced one seventh of Beijing’s culture and creative revenue.
The quantity of culture and creative enterprises in the media corridor keeps increasing with the development of industry, service and supply chains. In order to be more market-oriented, the corridor is running in a government planned direction with marketing as the driving force.
A variety of methods were applied in the corridor’s Changyang district location to expand the development space for culture and creative industries, including reconstruction, expansion and new construction sites.
The corridor’s six newly staged culture and creative bases made their debuts in the ICCIE. As well as spatial and location advantages, the projects are uniquely creative , which, according to the Chaoyang Cultural and Creative Industry Center, will be attractive for culture media enterprises to settle into.
Beijing CBD-Dingfuzhuag International Media Corridor, with an administrative area of 78 square kilometers, borders with Yaojiayuan Road in the north, Guangqu Road in the south, Dongerhuan in the west and the boundary with Tongzhou district in the east. Beijing Central Business District and Dingfuzhuang Media Cultural Industry Area are its two major industries
