A jade carving exhibition will be displayed at Maolong Cultural and Creative Industry Park, an affiliated venue of the eighth China Beijing International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo.
The exhibition will provide visitors a visual feast with more than 100 prizewinners of the Tiangong Award, a nationwide prize for jade art in China. The artworks are carved on a variety of jades, including white jade and Hetian jade.
The news came from a press conference on Nov 6, which also announced the schedule for various shows featuring domestic ceramic products for daily use in the No 3A, 7 and 12A exhibition halls, and all kinds of exquisite crafts in other halls.
"These are all non-commercial exhibitions. Everyone should have a chance to appreciate both the delicacy of traditional crafts and artwork from leading foreign masters," a representative from the park said.
The Maolong Art Gallery in the park has 10 halls, which exhibit imperial furniture, jewelry, traditional hardwood furniture, Tiangong Award prizewinners, carved lacquerware and Jingtailan (or cloisonné, a craft born and developed in Beijing), furniture and decorations from a 2010 TV series based on the classic Chinese novel A Dream of Red Mansions, chinaware, jade carvings, Chinese paintings and calligraphies, and arts and crafts from masters.
Taikongworks, a famous animation producer in Maolong Park, will offer four new animations, including a cartoon series combining folklore and Peking opera, next year.
