It will take only five hours to travel from Beijing to Dalian, Liaoning province, after a high-speed rail line between the two cities is completed this year, Beijing News reported on Wednesday. Trial operations for the rail have been taking place since July 16. When the line opens, passengers will not need to transfer at Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning. Currently, the fastest train between Beijing to Dalian takes seven hours, 43 minutes, and the slowest takes 12 hours.
