The Zhongguancun national technology hub has organized its companies to make a strong showing at the China Beijing International High-Tech Expo for the 15th consecutive year.
More than 150 Zhongguancun-based companies will display their breakthroughs in the 32,000-square-meter exhibition area. More than 70 percent of the exhibitors are making their debut at the expo.
The exhibits showcase the latest achievements, products, technologies and solutions of the nation's most advanced high-tech enterprises.
Many of the companies specialize in IT, including next-generation Internet applications. One is Xiaomi, which is exhibiting its proprietary Miui operating system for smartphones.
CAXA Technology Co will highlight its 3D design software, and Bolong Keon-A will show off its systems for high-definition traffic monitoring and analysis.
Other companies concentrate on energy conservation and environmental protection solutions, including GeoEnviron Engineering Technology, which is displaying its soil remediation technologies, and Beijing SDL Technology, a developer of monitoring systems for particulate matter in the air and heavy metals in the water.
There are also companies in manufacturing, such as Tiertime Technology, which will showcase its new 3D printer with advanced melted extrusion modeling technology.
Through the use of multimedia, simulated environments and human-computer interaction, the exhibitors have created an experience for visitors that highlights the "green and smart" lifestyle.
Most of the high-tech products on display are to be used to raise living standards by improving the environment, developing alternative energy, reducing air and water pollution, and more effectively treating waste.
These innovations can also improve the efficiency of urban management and promote balanced socioeconomic development, said officials from the Zhongguancun administrative committee.
The expo provides opportunities for Zhongguancun to promote its leading companies and display a number of China's domestically developed brands.
It also serves as a means to demonstrate the ways Zhongguancun has revolutionized its management system and improved its business environment to attract emerging industries in the years that have passed since it was approved to be a national independent innovation demonstration zone by the central government in 2009.
