The Future Science & Technology Park, a green, high-tech and intelligent city, will host the 16th China Beijing International High-tech Expo a platform to lure talent, the park’s management said.
The park, opened in July 2009, covers 10 square kilometers in Beijing’s Changping district.
Nine of the 15 central government-owned companies in the park will start operations this year with more than 5,000 scientific researchers. Besides companies, the park has also attracted a number of cutting-edge scientific research institutions in the field of energy conservation and environment protection, information technology, bioengineering, and new energy.
The park will also offer an eco-friendly living environment for talent from home and abroad, said Su Guiguang, executive vice-director of the park’s management committee.
The city will be totally powered by clean energy and more than 15 percent of the energy will be renewable. With a forest park as big as 3.14 square kilometers, more than 50 percent of the park will be a green area.
“There will be no factories in the park,” Su said. “The scientific research achievements will be put into practice somewhere else.”
An international school and an international hospital will be built in the park to facilitate the life of researchers and their families.
Together with the living environment, the pleasant atmosphere will facilitate the scientific research projects.
“There will be no need for the researchers to be worried about funds for their research projects,” Su said.
At present 136 high-level experts have come through the Thousand Talent Program, or Recruitment Program for Global Experts, and more are needed, said Su.
