On May 3, media reporters from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AP, ICN TV in the US, Swedish Television, Wen Wei Po of Hong Kong and Ta Kung Po joined by the External Publicity Office and ambassadors from Bengal, Greece, Poland and Armenia went to Pinggu to attend the 15th Peach Blossom Music Festival and look at the construction achievements of ecological conservation in Beijing.
Pinggu left a deep impression on the visitors. They enjoyed the music valley and the melody of the popular song Beijing Welcomes You.
Since the 12th Five-Year Plan started, people in Pinggu have kept their eyes on the ecological improvement of Beijing. The region has accelerated agricultural modernization and built up a base for the national music culture industry. The Peach Blossom Music Festival has also gained recognition from overseas. It has become a calling card connecting Beijing to the world.
“This area basically exhibits electro-acoustic instrumentation and is a part of Pinggu’s music industry,” said the project head of Pinggu district while introducing the exhibition center of the music valley.

The project head also mentioned that the Pinggu cultural industry not only includes electro-acoustic instrumentation, but also violin production, exhibition and concerts. “With the continuous development of the agriculture and tertiary industry, rural Beijing is changing constantly.”
The improvements in conventional agriculture gave visitors a pleasant surprise. In the Noah Modern Organic Farm, fresh aubergines hung high on 2-meter shelves. Minister Theo Grunewald from Namibia stood in the middle of the greenhouse, with eggplants in each hand for photographs.
“Every place I’ve been is perfect, especially here. It’s a fresh pattern allowing more than 200 local farmers to get income from both wages and land,” Grunewald said. “Namibia never had a place like this. It makes me so excited that I want to take photos everywhere. In Pinggu district, farmland with vegetables and fruits can be found all over the place. Getting so close to nature makes this trip very unique and worthwhile.”

The most fascinating thing is the peach blossoms prospering everywhere. Lin Moshan, a journalist from Swedish Television’s Beijing office, said he had never been to Pinggu before. But because of his interest in violins, he has heard about the violin production here. He felt sorry that he could not communicate with the masters of violin manufacturing. “But Pinggu left a compelling impression on me, and I’m sure that I will back soon.”
