The third Beijing International Organization Party kicked off on April 16 in Beijing’s Changping district. It aims to promote cooperation and communication between China and the outside world, offer more quality services to attract more international organizations to settle in Beijing, and build Beijing into a world-class metropolis with Chinese characteristics.

The Beijing branches of more than 30 international organizations attended the event, including the United Nations Children’s Fund, the Voluntary Service Overseas, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. A total of 200 representatives from Beijing’s non-governmental organizations were also on hand.

Xiong Daxin, president of the Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges, and personnel from the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, Beijing Foreign Affairs Office and Beijing Information Office were also in attendance.

During the event, participants visited apartments for the elderly and a primary school for farmers’ children. They also discussed environmental protection and visited the Beijing Garden Expo.

The international organizations gained a better understanding of Chinese culture and Beijing through this event, prompting them to make greater contributions to Beijing’s development in the future.
