Museum to close Monday afternoon

The Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, will close every Monday afternoon for renovation and maintenance.

The museum launched a pilot plan to close to the public every Monday afternoon from Jan 1 to March 31. The museum has decided to continue to operate a half-day on Monday for the rest of the year.
