Dai Junliang was born in July 1960 in Xishui of Hubei province. He started his professional career in January 1980 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Oct 1988. He graduated from Jilin University with a master’s degree in history. He currently serves as vice-mayor of Beijing.
Dai formerly served in the Ministry of Civil Affairs as deputy director of the comprehensive division of the general office; deputy director of the policy research office; and secretary for the minister, deputy director and then director of the subdivision and toponym department. Dai was also member of the standing committee of the Shenyang municipal committee, Liaoning province; vice-mayor of Shenyang and deputy secretary of the Shenyang municipal Party committee. Dai also served in the Ministry of Civil Affairs as director of the human resources department, deputy secretary of the Party committee of departments under the CPC, vice-minister and member of the leading Party group.
He also has held leadership positions as the commissioner of the Central Guidance Commission for Building Spiritual Civilization of the CPC and deputy director of the State Council Leading Group of Poverty Alleviation and Development.
