Roughly 180,000 old vehicles will be taken off the road. Buses, sanitation vehicles and government cars will be encouraged to use energy efficient models.

The coal-fueling heating system of 44,000 households living in bungalows in downtown Beijing will be replaced by cleaner and more energy-efficient systems.
520 kilometers
The water supply pipe network to be constructed or upgraded will reach 520 kilometers in Beijing to ensure water diverted from the Yangtze River can be used in 2014.
