Although temperatures in Beijing were chilly during the New Year break, the capital received 1.53 million tourists, the Beijing Travel Committee said on Thursday.
During the period, Beijing reaped tourism revenue of 920 million yuan ($147.6 million), up 19.2 percent year-on-year.
Beijing registered an average temperature of minus 7.8 C, the lowest average temperature since 1978 for the Jan 1-3 period, the Beijing Daily reported on Friday.
