Research office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality has the following main functions:
1. Draft Government Work Reports, along with important speeches and articles for leaders of the Municipal Government.
2. Conduct surveys and research independently or jointly with relevant offices and put forward suggestions on significant issues bearing on reforms and developments of Beijing.
3. Follow-up on the economic situation of Beijing and provide suggestions to leaders of the Municipal Government.
4. Conduct R&D work for the Urban Operation Monitoring and Management System for Beijing and deal with maintenance of the System.
5. Participate in major activities assigned by leaders of the Municipal Government. Produce and edit audio and video materials of leader’s activities and the social-economic developments of Beijing.
6. Undertake other duties assigned by the Municipal Government.
