A 30-year-old wine factory has been reconstructed into an art park called 9 Art Garden or Jiuchang International Art Garden along the north lake of Chaoyang district in Beijing.

It connects Wangjing district in the east and Asian Olympic Village in the west. It has a total construction area of 20,000 square kilometers and has welcomed several hundred famous artists from both home and abroad.

Jiuchang International Art Garden is located nearby CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts). In this area, free artist activities are held all year long. The beautiful environment, old workshops, and unique plants make this an ideal place for organic artistic expression and academic forums.

The park was created and decorated by Beijing Yingcheng Technology & Trade Development and displays its unique cultural environment.

The art garden has learned from several world famous art centers and institutions such as the Arario Beijing Gallery and Hong Kong Osage Gallery. It has been undergoing preparations since May 2005. The garden serves as a gathering place for domestic and overseas artists, scholars and professors. There are also a great number of new generation artists at the climax of their career.

International exhibitions have been held since December 2005, such as Beautiful Cynicism, Static Flying Birds a personal exhibit by Wang Jianwei, Hungry Gad an Indian contemporary art exhibit and Hidden Arms.
