On May 28, the China-Canada Investment Opportunity Seminar was held at the Crowne Plaza in Zhongguangcun. The seminar was jointly organized by the Administrative Committee of the Zhongguancun Science Park, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada and the Eleven-city Union of Canada.
Yang Jianhua, vice-director of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun, Duana Glen Mcmullen, counselor of commerce at the Embassy of Canada and Mike Darch, senior consultant at Ottawa Investment, attended the seminar.
Representatives from Canada introduced the investment environment and value orientation of Canada, China-Canada relations, the North America Free Trade Agreement and opportunities at Canada's eleven major cities.
Board chairman of Aigo and member of the Aigo Entrepreneurs Alliance, Feng Jun, presented cases from the company's overseas business ventures, with the theme of "outstanding enterprises going abroad".
In the afternoon session, representatives from Zhongguancun discussed their projects with eight Canadian cities including Toronto, Ottawa, Waterloo and Montreal. Canadian projects cover information communication, clean energy, life science, medical equipment and the smart grid. A signing ceremony between Ottawa Investment and JUNO Capital was held after the session.
This seminar has been among many exchanges to be held between Canada and China since the two sides signed an official agreement on April 18, 2008 in Beijing.
