Chinese calligraphy workshop
Join the Introduction to Chinese Calligraphy workshop and learn the basics of Chinese philology and how to use the Four Treasures to make your own calligraphy work.
During the workshop you will learn about Chinese traditional cultures and history.
The Four Treasures are the writing brush, the ink stick, paper and an ink slab.

Children's art class
Part of the Rainbow Journey program, artist Si Zhiguang leads a class for migrant students in how to create art using alternative materials such as dirt and dust.
Offered only in Chinese, the program is designed to inspire children to be self-confident and show an interest in art.

Hot Pepper Eating Contest
Do you like eating spicy or hot food? Do you want to challenge your spice level? Do you have the courage to compete against other people?
If your answers to all three questions are "yes", prove yourself the Master of Spice by participating in the Beijinger Hot Pepper Eating Contest at Canada Day.
Win thousands of yuan worth of spicy food from different countries:
First prize: A 2,000 yuan voucher from Ganges restaurant and a 500 yuan from Punjabi restaurant
Second prize: A 1,000 yuan voucher from Taj Pavilion and a 300 yuan voucher from Punjabi

Eudora anniversary
One of Lido's older restaurants, Eudora Station Cafe, a Western-style eatery, is celebrating its seventh anniversary on Thursday, with 30 percent off all menu items.
There will be plenty of food and drinks as local rock band Bump City entertains guests late into the evening.

Dragon boat show
To celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival and commemorate Qu Yuan, one of the most famous poets of ancient China, Longtan Park will hold the Fourth Dragon Boat Gala during the festival period. Dragon boat shows will delight visitors to this picturesque lake.
In addition, a religious fete ceremony, which traditionally shows respect to heaven, the Earth and all human beings, will take place with all performers in Han Dynasty costumes. Tourists can also float lanterns in the lake to pray for good luck for them and their families.
