Li Yundi was propelled onto the international stage when he won first prize at the XIV Chopin International Piano Competition at the age of 18, becoming the youngest and first Chinese winner in the history of the renowned competition. Since then, he has been regarded as a leading exponent of Chopin's music. Li is a household name and has a huge following in his native China. In 2013 and 2014, he embarked on a 35-city recital tour of the country each year, bringing classical music to provincial capitals as well as second- and third-tier cities. In 2015, he started a historic tour with Mr Dutoit and NYO-USA from Carnegie Hall in New York, to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Xi'an, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. From the autumn of 2015, Li started his recital tour of all Chopin program, till the spring of 2016, he is touring in the North America and Europe, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, Paris, London, Berlin, Vienna and Rome.
