Chengdu
Foreigners who visit Chengdu must make time to see the famed pandas that symbolize China. Traditionally known for pandas and cuisine, Chengdu has many other attractions due to its rich history and cultural relics as well as its renowned spicy cuisine. The fertile Chengdu Plain is known as Tianfuzhiguo in Chinese, or Land of Abundance. Now Chengdu is planning to become a city of global appeal.
US Vice President Joe Biden, former French president Jacques Chirac, former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and British Prime Minister David Cameron have been guests in Chengdu.
