US House passes Ukraine aid bill

WASHINGTON - The US House of Representatives Thursday approved legislation that would allow the Obama administration to give Ukraine $1 billion of loan guarantees.

The bill was passed in a 385-23 vote.

Before President Obama signed the bill into law, it needs to be cleared in the Senate next week.
