Marry me as soon as we graduate |
How many times did your husband get down on one knee and propose before you said "yes, I do"? Once? Twice? Zhao Junzeng did it three times — in a single day.
One Saturday back in December 2011, Zhao, a then-26-year-old Shanghai native, suggested he cook lunch for his girlfriend Yi Qun at her place before going together to a party at a friend's home.
"We had potluck often so I didn't sense anything different about this," recalls Yi, who was 24 years old at the time.
As they were preparing to leave after finishing lunch, he suddenly turned to her and, rather expressionlessly, said "marry me".
"I felt embarrassed and played dumb," says Yi from Yichun city, Jiangxi province.
On their way to the friend's place, Zhao suddenly knelt down in front of her in the street, with a diamond ring in his hand.
