Guangdong customs decided to cut off the source of drugs by strengthening security check. Up to now, the drug trafficking cases discovered in Guangdong account for 50% of the kind of cases discovered all round China, said Chen Jianwen, who is responsible for Guangdong customs.
The ration proves Guangdong's efforts in busting cross-border drug-related cases.
Besides, to effectively combat cross-border cases, it's necessary for Guangdong police to cooperate with counterparts in other countries.
The first China-Australia joint drug control was launched in Nov 2, marking the beginning of a five-month joint efforts to bust international drug-related cases between the two countries, since Australia is the destination country of drugs trafficking.
"The joint efforts will undoubtedly alleviate the severe drug condition in the two countries and also other countries involved," said Deng.
Guangdong has cooperated with 40 countries, including the US and Russia, in drug case investigations and nabbed 503 drug traffickers from 42 countries and regions in 2014.
