China's beauty by rail

The railway, from Ulanchap to Tongliao city, both in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has a total length of 944 km or so.

The railway, open to traffic in 1995, witnessed the end of the steam locomotives era in China with the last steam locomotive on the trunk line taken out of service in 2005. However, the yearly steam locomotive photography festival held by Jitong Railway is always a gala for railway fans.
