China cancels 14,455 press cards

BEIJING - Chinese press authorities said on Tuesday that 14,455 press cards have been canceled in national crackdowns on bogus journalists since the start of 2013.
A total of 216 illegal newspapers and magazines have been investigated, with 76 of them being suspended since the start of last year, said the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
Authorities have investigated 258 criminal cases involving fake journalists and confiscated more than 1.5 million illegal newspapers and magazines, the administration said.
