Vice Premier stresses carrying cultural essence abroad

BEIJING - Vice Premier Liu Yandong on Thursday called on arts workers to carry forward the essence of Chinese culture and create masterpieces to stand the test of time.
"Arts workers should combine their talents with development of social prosperity and reflect people's lives in the new era," said Liu, at a symposium with the winners of a national prize for arts and culture.
Liu appealed to arts and cultural workers to take their lead from excellent foreign artists and take Chinese culture to the world.
Liu also encouraged participation in the establishment of public cultural services to build a country of strong culture and realize the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
