Dong Feng came to Beijing from Heilongjiang province 12 years ago and now rents a single-bedroom flat in Beijing. The rent is more than 4,000 yuan each month ($600).
Dong and his wife opened a trade company in Beijing that deals with specialties from northeast China. Last year, Dong started working in the Designated Driving service.
Dong's son is in the first grade of primary school in Beijing. The boy is the pride of the family, he said.

Festivals and weekends are when he gets much busier. His work requires a flexible working hours, and "having a long day is quite usual," he said.

His team consists of more than 2,000 drivers for Designated Driving service, and everyone else calls him "warm-hearted team leader."
Car-loving Dong has cleared for driving A1 and A2 types of passenger vehicles, the highest level on China's driving license; he has also got the professional certificate for auto mechanic. He recently obtained Best 10 Didi Drivers Award. He regarded this award a recognition of his own value.
