Che Yanjiao is a 22-year-old senior student at Chengdu University of Technology. She earns over 500,000 yuan ($ 80,453) per month. It has only been a year since she started her business on WeChat moments.

Inspired by people who were selling goods on WeChat in 2013, Che Yanjiao decided to start her own business with 2,000 yuan start-up money. She began by selling clothes on WeChat. After a month, she had made only 500 yuan. It was not much, but it was enough to inspire her to carry on the business. She then switched to selling masks – a business that she knew better. Surprisingly, she made a net profit of over 4,000 yuan in the very first month.

In early 2014, Che borrowed 180,000 yuan from her mother to purchase stock and became an A-level agent of the mask brand she sells. Her friends on WeChat increased from 100 to 1000, and the 180,000 yuan-worth of mask stock was soon sold out. Since then she has built up her reputation and become an A-level agent for three other cosmetic brands. According to Che, she now has more than 3,000 friends on WeChat, over 500,000 yuan monthly income and almost 100 B-level agents below her who replenish their stocks from her.
