Glaze ice wonderland in Beijing
Nearly 300 square meters of glaze ice appeared in the Xicheng District of Beijing due to a water leakage on Monday, Beijing Times reported.
A water pipe burst in a roadside green belt at 5 am on Monday, causing water to gush out and coat trees and bushes nearby with icicles.
The sight, not commonly seen by locals, drew a crowd to take photos and bring their children to play on the ice.
According to statistics from Nanjiao Observatory, the temperature reached -5.4 degrees in Beijing on Monday, the lowest temperature recorded this winter.
