Chengdu earned recognition as one of the 15 best global emerging cities, according to Fortune magazine.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology conferred Chengdu with the honorary title of Chinese Software Famous City on Feb 21 to become the third city in the country and the first in western China.
Chengdu has been evaluated as a city with great economic vitality, a superb business city, good tourist destination and national model city for environmental protection. It has won the UN Habitat Award and International Thiess River Award. The World Bank declared, “Chinese mainland benchmark city in investment environment.”
Chengdu ranks first in financial competitiveness in Western China, according to the third CDI China Financial Center Index report.
Foreign Direct Investment magazine, published by the British Financial Times Group, printed a report, 2011/2012 Future Cities in Asia-Pacific – Top 10 Cities for Foreign Direct Investment Strategy.
